Ooznest OX CNC Machine for sale...
Hey guys,
I have an Ooznest OX CNC for sale. It's a completely built/working/running machine with all electronics. It is ready to be turned on and machine a part. I have only used it to make 2 items...one wood and one aluminum. I will post some pictures this evening so you can see what I have. It uses the xPRO CNC Controller. You get the entire shabang! Router too! Which is a Bosch Colt Router. I wired everything meticulously and this thing not only works perfectly, it looks great too. Let me...

Drag knife software
Hello,
I have a CNC router I built a few years ago. I am upgrading it with a dragknife to cut paper and vinyl. I am wondering if anyone knows of a sketchUcam plugin to help me write g-code for this. I currently run version 1.1 of sketchUcam. Or is anyone interested in writing some?

Foam Cutter......need double sided V-rail
Hi all.
I'm a graphic designer/sheep farmer/bluegrass musician in Florida and am just getting into CNC. I have been reading up on it for quite awhile but this is my first project. The 5 -axis controller is built, tested and ready. I basically just have to finish the Y axis, mount the drag chains, run the wires and load the software. I plan to try it with Mach3 to begin with, then later upgrade to something else if needed.
All of this is made from 8020 15 series except the trusses in the center...

Xtreme Mini V Wheel™ Kit
I just got several sets of Xtreme Mini V Wheel™ Kit and when I tighten the assembly on a plate they do not turn freely. If I loosen the torque, then they turn but with uneven movement, if I loosen further the bolt is almost loose.
Is this an indication of defective bearings?
Has anyone had the same problem?

C Beam CNC vs CNC3040
Hi guys
If anybody has experience, how does C beam plate CNC compares to classic 3040 CNC you can find on eBay? I'm interested in particular into mechanical aspect of the machines (sturdiness, precision and similar).
Why I'm asking? Well, I'm from Europe and cheapest option to get C beam CNC costs around 600 EUR ($720). For $500 I can get CNC3040 from UK, so I'm bit in the dilemma which path to take. Therefore, I'm trying to figure out (dis)advantages of both as price difference is not...

20mm V-Slot Gantry Plate (OpenSCAD)
I couldn't find the 20mm V-Slot Gantry Plate in .scad format for my project, so I coded it myself.
Feel free to use it as you wish, and let me know if I have missed something.
This is my first try ever at OpenSCAD coding, so please be gentle with your feedback

Unfortunately, these bearings have been difficult to fit as shown in the linked photo. Most do not fit at all, only one can slide a few centimeters before jamming.
Still, this system seems to be widely used. Is there any trick to applying the bearings smoothly?

Grbl hard limits and homing
I have been using my Ox (Cebu) for a while now with minimal problems. Today for some reason, I started having noise issues that kept setting off my limit switches. Most annoying, and no source for .47uf capacitors anywhere locally. I only have limit switches set up for homing, with soft limits defined for the "far" end.
So, to get a job done today, I disabled hard limits ($21). That works for the time being.
My question is - can I still use a homing cycle with hard limits disabled?...

CNC OX v C-Beam (Plate Maker).
Hi All,
I am a first time builder and would like some advice.
I am keen to try a build without spending too much to see if I am really going to get into it.
I have tried reading through the various forum post, but have not really found an answer.
My intention is mostly to work in wood, but it would be nice to know that if I chose to, I could mill Aluminium/Perspex etc..
Inlaying has caught my imagination at the moment for box lids.
A few questions:
The decision would be between Ox 500*750 or...

Lead screw torque and force calculator
Found this guy in my research while working on a cnc mill design
http://www.daycounter.com/Calculators/Lead-Screw-Force-Torque-Calculator.phtml
Can anyone confirm it's accuracy? I was going to use it to see what the minimum torque my stepper motors needed in relation to tool forces.
