Air Powered Spindle

Is it possible to use an air powered spindle on a cnc machine? I seem to be running into issues with the weight of my electric router and so I was looking at buying a lighter, weaker router like the bosch colt but then I realized I have a small air compressor(maybe 80 PSI?) and I thought maybe it could drive one of those air grinders or something that would be light and do the job but give me an air grinder too.

Something like this...

Hi,

I would like to buy a new controller for my ox. i had a difficult experience with a controller and currently is almost dead.
Now im searching a non expensive controller good for beginners to start work with. I leave in europe so im interested for controllers that i can find easily and are not from outside europe to save some money (tinyg cost 200+ euro!).
I have searched for alternatives and i am between these controllers

1) smothieboard
2)gshield
3)arduino cnc shield

What do you...

Please help me choose a controller.

I'll post some of my more unique signs and projects here. If anyone has any questions on how they were done feel free to ask !!

These are were cut on the Area 51 F-117 Machine. These are just a few, i'll have to get the other photos from my wife. I try to keep this machine running about 8-10 hours out of the day, it cuts between 4 large signs or up to 8 mixed small and large signs per day..

Hi, I am new to the forum and CNC in general. I have been exploring to build a hobby CNC and after a lot of looking around, narrowed on Shapeko 2/ Xcarve type design. I wanted to check if anyone has built Shapeko 2/ Xcarve using 20x40 Vlsot? Other than simplicity, 20x40 & 20x20 is the only Vlsot available in my country, so the reason for choosing this design.

Comments/ thoughts appreciated.

SainSmart "Blue" Breakout Board

I have one of these boards and when you combine it with a stepper driver it controls stepper motors very well thru Mach 3. I am trying to figure out how to exactly wire the E-stop. There are directions but they don't seem to work. My question is, does anyone else have this board and have they hooked up an e-stop properly and how ???

Hello,
I have been looking around for a vacuum forming machine for a long time, and could not find one that was either in my price range or was safe enough for me to want in my home.
The Phlatformer answers both of these requirements... Unfortunately, it was not available in either cut-out or open-source form.... So I set out to reverse engineer one from the pictures on the net that are available.
I finished the design of the first iteration, and cut one out for my nephew - who (hopefully) is...

I just ordered all the stuff to build a 1000mm by 1000mm C Beam machine. I am looking through alot of different software and what i am looking for is a easy to use software to do 3d carvings and 3d picture frames. Anyone have any ideas

Proximity Switch Question for SainSmart "Blue" Breakout Board

Ok, hopefully the last question for a little while. So I have a 3 Wire Proximity switch that I want to use as a limit switch with my break out board. The switch has 3 colors of wires (blue, brown and black). Based on the enclosed picture how do I hook up the switch to the CNC board.
